General Information
|
The Neijia mailing list is a closed, private list where
the essential criteria for being on the list are that discussions are
primarily focused on concrete and specific aspects of training,
applying, and investigating the internal strength that serve as a
foundation for the internal martial arts (including but not restricted
to the arts of Taijiquan [T'ai Chi Ch'uan], Xingyiquan [Hs'ing-I Ch'uan],
and Baguazhang [Pa Kua Chang]).

Guidelines for List Posting
The list is closed which means that only list members can receive
messages. As a closed, private list anyone can be removed at
any time at the discretion of the list moderators. Silly appeals
to freedom of speech, censorship, etc. notwithstanding.
- All perspectives are welcome. The only hard and fast requirement
is that any contribution be substantative and constructive with
regards to the list charter.
- We strongly recommend that you read the "core principles" section
at neijia.net for background.
- NOTE: The list has a strong bias in favor of results-oriented
discussions. For instance, discussion often focuses on body
mechanics and training methods.
This bias is not because we don't put any value in spiritual or
"etheric" qi studies but that these pursuits do not lend themselves
at all well to concrete discussion via e-mail.
- NOTE: This list frowns strongly upon heavy commercial promotion.
Announcements of upcoming workshops and events are welcome but
the list administrators will step in as warranted to curb any undue
promotion.
- Please refrain from "teacher worship." If you feel great about
your teacher, there's a good chance that others feel the same
way about their's. You do yourself and your teacher no favors
by pumping him/her up.
- This mailing list, like any other community, has its own informal
codes of discussion and boundaries. We suggest that you observe
general USENET guidlines of lurking and reading the discussions for
several weeks.
- You are invited to contribute an initial post of your background,
experiences, and interests.
- Please sign your own name and refrain from using "handles" or
pseudonyms.
- When replying to a msg, do not quote back the entire message. Edit
and/or summarize as appropriate. Make it easy on your readers.
- The list is not intended to be a "chat" or "social" list. While
these sorts of bonds between individuals will tend to happen in
any group setting, please keep non-substantative exchanges to a
minimum.
Any abuse or deviation from the above guidelines will likely result
in deletion from list membership.
